While currently based in Houston, Texas, I am keen to collaborate with artists from around the world, whether we are able to collaborate in person or only via the internet. I am seeking artists interested in experimental, devised, site-specific, new media, and/or non-narrative performance styles. I believe that cultural interaction is preeminent to understanding different cultures, and it is crucial to establishing performance that can reflect a global collective consciousness.

If you or your group are interested in an artistic exchange or collaboration, please contact me at dexla.net.

[Houston] Projects
Alpha Project
For the [Houston] Alpha Project, my goal is to bring together Houston area artists both experienced and simply interested in devised performance to create a work and present it to the local community. I feel that a variety of ages, experience levels, and backgrounds will best suit this project. However, since this piece will be a Houston-centered piece, those from and living in Houston are of particular interest.

Beta Project
For the [Houston] Beta Project, I want to reclaim historic Houston. This will be achieved by looking at notions of the history presented there, whose history it is, and how the history is currently being performed. I am also interested in exploring the stories found in historic Houston; not text book history, but obeserving what has been preserved and what has not, foregrounding the absent.
One avenue this might take is utilizing the Harris County Preservation Project, in particular the story of a free black woman who was successful against a white judge and an all white jury in suing for her own freedom and that of her children.

"Ideas like to be cross fertilized. The bonding that happens between artists working together produces an integrity that reads into the work ... is visible in the work ... communicates to the audience and viewer". - Bryan Saner of Goat Island
